To RAICES, with gratitude…
In recent months, hundreds of advocates nationwide have sent notes of support as fuel for our team members and those we serve. We call them Heartgrams, and we’re sharing some of the most meaningful with you on this Employee Appreciation Day.
There is still a lot of love in this world. There is still so much compassion and caring and people who need our solidarity. So many people see that a better world is possible. Together we can build it! – Jane
Our communities are strongest when we care for each other, not when we selfishly look out only for ourselves, and when we value our diverse experiences and backgrounds, not when we fear difference. I’m working toward strong community, and there are so many others doing the same. – Emily
Please know that there are so, so, so many of us who will continue to stand with you, and we will keep raising our voices and taking to the street to make our voices heard together. – Kendra
As a child of immigrants, I know that this country can’t be “great” without all of the sacrifice and heart from this community. We are the foundation and nothing can stand without the foundation. – Yury
I know you are probably feeling the same pit in your stomach as I am. It seems like a nightmare. But you are not alone. I am thinking of you, and so are others. We will do everything we can to take care of you. – Gabriela
RAICES, you are not alone. Please know that we stand together for dignity, safety, and prosperity. Peace loving people in the U.S. are the majority and we believe we empower each other as neighbors. Together, we continue to build a movement grounded in compassion and solidarity. – Heriberto
This is a dark and frightening time for our country, but it isn't the first time in our history that wicked people have tried to shut our borders to people who don't look and speak the way they do. But it has never worked. My family and I remember and treasure the fact that we are the descendants of migrants. Please know we also remember and treasure you. – Christina
At this uncertain time, please know that there are millions who still stand with you in solidarity and are ready to advocate for you the best we can. It can be tempting to give up, but keep on, one day at a time, we’ll get through this together! – Amber
The people spreading lies and building walls have loud voices, but there are more of us than them! Sending hope and strength to you. – Colleen
We are in in tough times and headed for tougher. But I want you to know that there are people all over this country who care about you and worry about you and are already organizing and figuring out what they can best do to help RAICES in its mission and goals. Take care of yourself and look for the bright spots! – Seana
We will keep working and pushing for a better immigration system, and to support all those who come to our country. Know you are not alone! – Megan
